At WOD X, we are committed to safeguarding and respecting your privacy. This policy outlines what data we collect, how it is processed, and how you can exercise full control or permanently delete your account, in compliance with Apple App Store Guidelines (Guideline 5.1.1), Google Play Developer Policies (User Data Policy), and global privacy frameworks (GDPR / CCPA).

The data controller responsible for the personal data processed through the WOD X mobile application and website is the WOD X developer team.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide and maintain our services:

  • Account & Identity Data: Email address, athlete nickname or display name, encrypted password (or Apple / Google sign-in identifiers).
  • Physical Fitness & Training Data: Personal Records (1RM in Olympic weightlifting lifts including Snatch, Clean & Jerk, Deadlift, Back Squat), benchmark workout times (Fran, Murph, Cindy, etc.), timer logs, AMRAP/EMOM round splits, weights in kg/lbs, and workout notes.
  • Technical & Diagnostics Data: Device model, operating system version (iOS / Android), anonymized installation IDs, crash analytics, and performance telemetry disconnected from personal contact data.
  • Optional User Media: Profile photos and whiteboard photos if you voluntarily capture or upload them from your device.

3. Health & Fitness Data Protection

Your workout logs, weight loads, and training times are processed solely to allow you to log personal progress, compute training percentages (% 1RM), and track historical athletic performance.

We never sell, rent, or trade your athletic or physical fitness data to third-party advertisers, insurance providers, or data brokers.

4. Device Permissions

WOD X may request access to certain system permissions on Android and iOS devices:

  • Notifications: Used exclusively to alert you when workout countdown timers (EMOM, AMRAP, Tabata rest periods) finish while the application runs in the background.
  • Camera & Photos: Requested only if you choose to attach workout whiteboard photos or customize your athlete avatar. We do not access your photo gallery without direct action.
  • Local Storage: Used to locally cache your workout history and timers so WOD X functions 100% offline without an active internet connection.

5. Purposes & Legal Bases for Processing

We process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract Performance: To operate the workout timer engine, plate calculator, and synchronize your training logs across your devices.
  • Explicit Consent: For camera permissions, push notifications, and voluntary submission of public box leaderboard entries.
  • Legitimate Interests: To detect and resolve software bugs, monitor service availability, and maintain system security.

6. Third-Party Services & Subprocessors

WOD X relies on industry-leading cloud infrastructure providers:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Secured cloud servers utilizing TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest.
  • Payment Processing: All in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled directly through Apple In-App Purchases (on iOS) and Google Play Billing (on Android). WOD X never accesses or stores your credit card numbers or financial details.

7. Account Deletion & Data Retention

Compliance with Apple and Google Account Deletion Requirements:
Any user can permanently delete their account and associated data easily and at any time.

You can request or execute account deletion through two straightforward methods:

  1. Directly in the App: Go to App Settings > Profile > Security & Account > Delete My Account Permanently.
  2. Via Email Request: Send an email from your registered account address to soporte@wodxapp.com with the subject "WOD X Account Deletion Request".

Once confirmed, all personal profile data, training history, PR logs, and media will be permanently deleted from our servers within a maximum of 30 calendar days.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including the EU GDPR and California CCPA), you hold the right to:

  • Access: Request confirmation of what personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or outdated account details.
  • Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): Request complete deletion of your data.
  • Data Portability: Request an export of your training records in a machine-readable format (JSON/CSV).
  • Withdraw Consent: Revoke any previously granted permissions at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

WOD X is not directed to individuals under 14 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). If we learn that personal data from a child has been collected without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated via in-app notifications or email prior to taking effect.
